Middletown is located about 20 minutes south of Harrisburg, and its name comes from the fact that it is the halfway point between Lancaster and Carlisle. It is a rich agricultural area, and is right on the border of Pennsylvania Dutch Country.

The Middletown & Hummelstown Railroad is a popular attraction for families, especially those with small children. And despite its name, The Vineyard and Brewery at Hershey is also located in Middletown.

Middletown is a relatively rural community, so it is not ideal for those who enjoy city life.
