About 20 minutes west of Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg is a small historic town.

Considering that Mechanicsburg’s motto is simply, “A Good Place to Live,” it should come as no surprise that it is a primarily residential area. It also has a downtown area with a few restaurants and shops, as well as historical attractions like the Mechanicsburg Museum Association and the Civil War & More shop.

The Williams Grove Speedway is also a popular destination for sprint car racing enthusiasts, and is open March-October.

Much like many of the small residential towns around Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg does not offer the same level of cultural or nightlife options.
