At the heart of Harrisburg, the downtown area is full of restaurants, nightlife, and art and cultural centers.

2nd Street has become known as “Restaurant Row” thanks to the abundance of restaurants and cafes between Market and Forster Streets, and there is no shortage of nightlife in this area. And only one block west, Riverfront Park runs along the Susquehanna River and is perfect for walking, biking, or even just enjoying the view from a bench or blanket.

Downtown is also home to City Island, which is one of the best recreational spots in the area. Visitors can attend Harrisburg Senators or City Islanders games, take a cruise on the Pride of the Susquehanna, play mini golf, or rent kayaks and paddleboards to take out on the river.

Much like any city, parking can be difficult in downtown Harrisburg.
