  • Really great selection of site examples! This makes me want to redo my site. Just one small error – number 15(SpritePad) and 18(Ignition Creative) both have the same site preview image .

    great showcase, thanks for sharing.

  • I liked the NoMad Hotel and Formfett the best.

  • Great designs and must say I never liked black in website design and I believe in having white as it gives professional look if used smartly but here the black is showing its worth. Now I believe its not about colors its about how well a designer use them.

  • Brian – I agree, it’s all about the web designer’s use of the colors that can really make a great website, no matter what the color choice is.

A lot of these are really nice, but poorly executed in my opinion. Some of them, it takes me way too long just to figure out what the site is about. The design far overshadows the product/service they are supposed to be selling, which is a failure of communication.

It’s like 1999 again, when everyone was just learning about Javascript and loading up web pages with everything they could to show off what they could do. The sites were more about showcasing what the designer had learned in tutorials than about the product they should be featuring. We seem to have come back to that, after an era of Web 2.0 where clean, smart communication was the goal. How did we fall back into this hole?

  • I love the simplicity, especially in the sites that mainly use black and white to capture the whole look and feel.

Great collection, thanks! I’m inspired! 😀
