Derry Township, one of the premier local governments in Central PA, was searching for a web solutions provider to bring their website into the 21st century.

They trusted WebpageFX to implement a completely customized solution that fit their needs.

Derry Township's new website features a Joomla! content management system that enables quick editing of web pages by non-designers, a professional look, and a host of modules that allow township residents to access the information they need quickly and easily.

Design

The design of the Derry Township website had to be both usable and aesthetically pleasing. A dynamic header image rotates between various landmarks within Derry Township, like the Hershey Medical Center, Hershey Theater, and Hotel Hershey.

All township departments and documents are arranged in a series of silo drop down menus. Users can browse the township's departments on each and every page.

Derrytownship.org is now a complete online resource for the local government.

Development

All pages on the Derry Township site can be edited by employees without design experience. An open-source customized content management system allows for the addition of pages, content, and images.

Modules within the content management system feature a newsletter sign-up feature, a dynamic calendar, and a frequently updated news page.

Administrators can set permission levels to allow different employees different levels of access to the site's content.

Results

Derry Township has been extremely pleased with the design and functionality of their new site. As a result of the project, WebpageFX received press in the Harrisburg Patriot-News and Central Penn Business Journal.
